I was lucky enough to meet Bob in the last few years when he volunteered as a walk leader for the Worplesdon group. He was a lovely man and I was always delighted when he was a back marker when I led a walk because he was such a calm, positive presence. The people who join in our walks as a way to improve their physical and mental wellbeing responded well to his ever-smiling, twinkly personality. It was a pleasure and a privilege to know him, and it was typical that he was giving up his time to help others.
